The Sani UV-C is a chemical free water sanitation solution for tanks and reservoirs, manufactured locally in South Africa, which is easy to install with low maintenance.
How does UV-C work?
Ultraviolet germicidal irradiation (UVGI) is a disinfection method that uses short-wavelengthultraviolet (UV-C) light to kill or inactivate microorganisms by destroying nucleic acids and disrupting their DNA, leaving them unable to perform vital cellular functions.
Unlike chemical approaches to water disinfection, UV light provides rapid, effective inactivation of microorganisms through a physical process. When bacteria, viruses and protozoa are exposed to the germicidal wavelengths of UV light, they are rendered incapable of reproducing and infecting.
The Sani UV-C is a complete unit that is easily mounted in a Jojo tank or reservoir on the opposite side of the water inlet.
The globe only needs to be replaced every two years. Note that it is important to wear protective eye ware when installing or maintaining the unit.
